Cross-cultural training for AkzoNobel / photo from ÖA
AkzoNobel is expanding the production capacity of Bermocoll by building a new plant in Ningbo, China. The personnel at the Chinese production site will be trained in Örnsköldsvik to get the basic knowledge about the production process. Two Chinese groups come to Örnsköldsvik in winter 2011 and spring 2012 respectively.
Before the arrival of the first Chinese team, we carried out cross-cultural training for the Swedish management group and all the workers in the factory, with aim to minimize the risk for unnecessary misunderstanding due to cultural differences, and improve the communication efficiency.
When the first Chinese team arrived, we had Swedish culture training with them, helping them to understand the Swedish way of working and communication. We also showed them around the city and arranged their meals during their stay. The training program is aiming to help them to get the most from their training and stay in Örnsköldsvik.
